Private tour
The Salt Mine Wieliczka is inscribed on UNESCO World Heritage list. This is the only facility in the world that has been functioning constantly since the Middle Ages. Original excavated holes, galleries, ramps, lakes, chambers and shafts – you will see all of them on the specially prepared tourist route.
The Salt Mine Wieliczka is located about 16 km south of Cracow and the tour lasts about 4-5 h in total. Sightseeing takes place 135 m below the surface and you have to walk down 800 stairs to get to the starting point. You will return to the surface with an original elevator. The tourist route is 2 km long and inside the mine the temperature is about 16 Celsius degree. Duration of the tour inside the mine is about 3 h.
It is possible to book a special tour for persons with limited mobility. The route is shortened and the visitors go down an up with an elevator.

Important information:
- Private tour means that the participants have a private transport, while the sightseeing takes place in a group. It’s possible to book a private tour guide in advance.
- Due to safety reasons, salt mine visitors may undergo a personal and bag security check.
- The maximum dimensions of a bag are 35 x 20 x 20 cm
- Sightseeing takes place 135 m under surface where the temperature is between 14 and 16 Celsius degree. We recommend wearing appropriate clothes.
- This is a walking tour that starts from going down 800 stairs. We recommend wearing sport shoes.
- Visitors go back to the surface by an elevator
- We suggest taking some snacks and drinks. It’s possibly to order a lunch box for 30 zł. In case you are interested in this option, let us know in advance by sending an email.
